Progressive Die Heavy Stamping

 

MSA-Wiegel provides precision heavy stamping services to OEM and tier manufacturers in the aerospace, appliance, automotive, construction and housing, electrical, electronics, lighting, military, solar and telecom industries, among others. Our heavy stamping department utilizes the latest Minster punch press technology. We also incorporate the most sophisticated quality controls, using in-die sensors and camera vision systems to inspect critical dimensions of parts as they move in and off the presses to ensure zero defects and 100% quality assurance at all times.

We produce our progressive tools in our in-house tool room to eliminate our customer’s need to source for an outside tool and die shop in addition to metal stamping. Everything you need is all in one place. Our tool and die makers and engineers work closely together to ensure design changes and modifications to tools are addressed in-real time. Our engineers provide part design and material recommendations to offer manufacturing cost savings ideas to our customers. Our engineers work with Siemens NX 3D CAD modeling software to simulate how parts and tools will function in the production process on screen, preventing manufacturing issues and ensuring efficient production runs.

For heavy stamping component assembly needs, we provide in-die assembly and semi-automated assembly to combine multiple stamped parts and join plastic, metal inserts, or hardware components such as fasteners, screw machine parts, bushings, nuts, and studs to metal stampings.

We work with many materials for heavy metal stampings including copper, brass, phosphor bronze, beryllium copper, steel, stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, galvanized steel, titanium and platinum. Stamping component features include automated in-die assembled, bi-metal, coated, coined, compliant pin (eye of the needle), countersunk, critical dimensions, EB welded, embossed, enameled, eyelets, flat, formed, heat-treated, IDC slots, inlay, multiple stamping, numbering, precious metal plated, reeled, shape critical, skived, strain relief, surface critical, surface mounted, tapped, threaded, tip coin and tuning forks.
