Multi-Slide/Four-Slide Forming and Assembly

MSA-Wiegel has invested in the latest Bihler multi-slide forming technology to provide the most compelling metal forming portfolio available to the global manufacturing industry. We manufacture metal stamped and formed precision parts for OEM and tier manufacturers in the aerospace, appliance, automotive, construction and housing, electrical, electronics, lighting, military, solar and telecom industries, among others. Our multi-slide machines have up to 8 slides and allow us to stamp raw material and form the metal components at different directions simultaneously, all while achieving greater than 90-degree angle bends. Processes like stamping, forming, assembly and welding no longer need to be completed in separate operations as we’re capable of completing multiple manufacturing processes in the multi-slide during a single operation, reducing production time tremendously. Our multi-slide machines can produce parts at up to 800 strokes per minute with high precision and outstanding quality.

We produce tooling for multi-slide forming in our in-house tool room to eliminate our customer’s need to source for an outside tool and die shop in addition to metal stamping and forming production. Everything you need is all in one place. Our tool and die makers and engineers work closely together to ensure design changes and modifications to tools are addressed in-real time. Our engineers provide part design and material recommendations to offer manufacturing cost savings ideas to our customers.  Our engineers work with Siemens NX 3D CAD modeling software to simulate how parts and tools will function in the production process on screen, preventing manufacturing issues and ensuring efficient production runs.

Multi-slide formed and stamped parts can be produced with many stamping component characteristics and features including automated in-die assembled, bi-metal, coated, coined, compliant pin (eye of the needle), countersunk, critical dimensions, embossed, enameled, eyelets, flat, formed, heat-treated, IDC slots, inlay, multiple stamping, numbering, precious metal plated, reeled, shape critical, skived, strain relief, surface critical, surface mounted, tapped, threaded, tip coin, tuning forks, and welded (EB, resistance, laser, spot, and brazed).

For assembly needs, we can combine multiple stamped parts and join plastic, metal inserts, or hardware components such as fasteners, screw machine parts, bushings, nuts, and studs to metal stampings.
